We have shopped here and spent a lot of money at this location since moving to Columbia. We have always experienced excellent customer service and enjoyed the products purchased.....until today. Today we encountered the WORST customer experience one couldn't imagine! We were returning some pants that didn't fit. The associate, Joey, could not get the return to register back to my card. So, he had me use another machine. Which in turn he asked me to enter my PIN. (having to move back and forth around a pole) I told him that I would not enter my PIN. I did not have to enter my PIN when I purchased the pants and I wouldn't enter it now. (I don't ever enter my PIN. I don't even use ATMs for cash withdrawals.) He then in turn asks me, "Don't you want your money back?" in a snarky voice. I was extremely taken aback. I again repeated that I was not going to enter my PIN. The associate next to him, Melanie, looked and me and told me to be nice. (along with other statements) I asked her if she was helping me or if he was. She threw her ponytail and snarled at me and started telling me that they get a lot of attitude from customers and they don't have to deal with it. She said she was sticking up for him. (Now mind you, all I did was tell him that I wasn't entering my PIN.) During this, Joey "somehow" got the system to work and it printed a return/refund receipt even though telling me he couldn't. He then made me walk around the pole for the 3rd or 4th time rather then coming to me (great customer service) to sign the return. All the while Melanie is yapping rudeness our way. My husband stepped up and asked her to quit being a "b" to me. (he can only handle someone being rude to me for so long.) At that point I let Joey know that we would not be spending our money at this location anymore and he stated, "there's an Old Navy in Jeff City. You can leave the store now." I felt that things would've been worked out if Melanie would've minded her own customer and station because Joey "figured" it out. Melanie did not display good customer service but rather tried to humiliate me. She looked miserable the moment we got into the checkout line and we witnessed her having a bad experience with a customer and her credit card before I made it to the counter. She in turn took it out on me. This associate should not be allowed to deal with customers but be put to stock duty. She will cause the loss of many high-spending customers such a us.
